Quick Tips of Should & Should Not’s in Property
The most common issues that I witness as a Buyer’s Agent is clients becoming emotionally involved with the decision-making process.
For example:
“My parents used to own a house like this”
“I grew up in a house like this”
“Our son may want to live in it when he goes to Uni (he is 5)”
What you shouldn’t do:
- Never go over budget
- Never believe the agent is your friend
What you should do:
- Engage an independent person to act on your behalf
- Have finance pre-approved
- Be aware of what values are in the area of interest
- Be prepared to walk away if it isn’t meant to be
What first home buyers cannot cut:
- Location with regards to local services and infrastructure
- Sensible functional build and design
- The right finance package
